George Elston was born in Crewkerne, Somerset in 1865 and joined the army on 9th October 1890 age 25. He served 12 years with the colours After army discharge he worked in the mining & coal industry as a Colliery Timberman (Pit Props & Coal Face Gallery Supports) and Died from a heart attack aged 75 in Aberdare, Wales on 11th November 1943.
