A Superb & Rare '1st Day' Battle of "VIMY RIDGE" Military Medal and 1914-15 Trio. To: 418654. Pte. D. NEAFSEY. 42/CANADIAN INFANTRY. A wonderful award reflecting sheer blind courage. On the day Pte Neafsey won his medal he was acting to repair telegraphic lines which had been cut in many places by a massive German bombardment. He was out in no-man's-land doing repairs single handedly "for many hours" under the withering enemy shell fire. A Canadian classic bound for the finest collection of gallantry medals.

Joined THE ACCRINGTON PALS as a Private on 25th September 1914 as part of Kitchener' New Army and rose quickly to the rank of Major all during 1914-1918.
